You don't have to buy their remote. You can program any IR remote to control Node. It can be set using BlueOS App in device settings, its easy and take 5 minutes. Previously, I used the Lyngdorf amp remote (I used the CD section to control Node), its amazing convenience. All my favourites playlists, radio, memory, without using a phone each time.
